OK, the nutritional facts say the ham should be salty. Numbers do not lie! this ham is very salty and if potable water was an issue, I am not sure I would eat this ham, but, it is tasty and it is ready to eat and on occasion you can find them at dollar stores for around 2.00. I am thinking it would be perfect for seasoning beans or greens. Each can contains 16 oz. of ham. I would not include it in my BOB, but you can be certain we have a dozen or so cans on the shelf in the preps storage room. My advice is to get one, and eat it before you decide. If you do not like the taste, texture, whatever, it would be a poor choice for storage.
